Stove-Top Candied Pecans
As we get close to the Christmas season, I thought that I might share a great holiday treat with y'all.
These little sweet treats are super quick and easy to make. They will be gone in the blink of an eye.
What you will need before getting started:
1 Large nonstick stove top skillet
1 Large sheet of baking parchment paper
•1 cup brown sugar
•1/2 cup white sugar
•1 tbsp salt
•1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
•6 tbsp water
•4 cups pecan halves
*These pecans are dairy-free, gluten-free and vegan friendly.*
Combine all ingredients except the pecans in a skillet and cook over medium heat, until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is bubbling.
*You should consistently stir this mixture to avoid the sugars from burning.
*Make sure that the sugar is dissolved all the way and not grainy before you dump the pecans into the mixture.
Add the pecans and cook for an additional 3 minutes, stirring to coat the pecans in the glaze.
Remove from the heat, and spread the pecans out on parchment paper to let the pecans cool.
Break apart before the sugar hardens all the way, to avoid the pecans breaking.
Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days of enjoyment.
*Pecans can be stored in the refrigerator .
*Pecans can be frozen.
*They may be good for longer than that, but my family never lets them last long enough to find out!
